Pioneer - NTU Shuttle Service

Today, I had the first experience of taking the Pioneer to NTU shuttle bus service. This service is definitely popular amongst the NTU community. When I reached the bus-stop, it was already crowded with people. When the bus came, I was literally pushed towards the bus door. Everyone was frantically trying to squeeze through the tiny bus door. Eventually, most of us boarded the bus but some did not. An objective of this service is to ease the traffic condition. However,a repercussion of this service is that hall stayers may not get to board the fully packed bus. Also, some of my friends are already complaining that the school should increase the service frequency. Indeed, there is not a single policy or programme that fits everyone's expectation.

reminiscence of the past

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Tim 4:7

I was reading one of the blogs which I posted 2 years ago. The topic was on the Standchart Marathon which I participated. The whole experience of running the marathon is still vivid in my mind. Its definitely a once in a life-time experience. The race is more than just an experience but a life lesson. Starting the race at 5.30 in the morning is not easy. I can still remember trying my very best to finish the last leg of the 'amazing race.' After the race, I was physically exhausted but satisfied in the soul.

Coincidentally, I was reminded by Jeremy that the Standchart Marathon 2009 is opening for registration today!!! I was contemplating on whether to join or not. It will definitely be an awesome opportunity to rekindle some of those moments of satisfaction two years ago.

television ministry

9 months has passed...Yeap, I am in TV Ministry for 9 months already. There are many things that I have learnt in this ministry. Initially, I was overwhelmed by the many equipment and terminologies that were being introduced to me. From an iris guy, I learnt how to adjust brightness, different shots and composition, and how the whole service production works. Then, I moved on crowd shot camera then tracking camera. Though I have done tracking camera for many times, my tracking with zooming shot still have room for improvement. I pray that God will anoint my hand to control the zoom servo better. Haha. I hope that I can learn more and improve my skills to serve God better in the next level. Next up, I hope to try the hand-held camara on stage.

new semester

Time flies especially when studying, haha...I am now officially a year 3 student. 2 more years and I will be graduating. The new timetable for the coming semester is out. Guess what??? All the core modules are in the late afternoon. I hate late afternoon lesson, haha. With this timetable, I am free from Monday to Thursday morning. I need to plan something to occupy those free time. Maybe use it for gym session or to catch up with studies. Most porbably, I will hit the gym during these free time. At the same time, I can fully utilise the facilities fee that I've been paying for the previous semesters. In the coming semester, I will be taking 17-20 AUs, lesser than what I took previous semester. I am looking forward to the new semester. Also, I will be applying for overseas exchange in the coming semester. This exchange will be sponsored by the MOE so I will just try my luck and apply for it. Hope I get it, so that I can spend a semester overseas. Haha.

The Taking of Pelham 123

I love this movie. I enjoyed both Denzel Washington and John Travolta acting in this movie. Simply fantastic. In The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, Denzel Washington stars as New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber, whose ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. John Travolta stars as Ryder, the criminal mastermind who, as leader of a highly-armed gang of four, threatens to execute the train’s passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. Garber became the hero of New York City by tracking down the mastermind of this crime, Ryder. This movie is certainly one of those movies that you must watch. I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

remedial training

So what have I been up to recently? Nothing much actually...Catching up with friends, looking for temp job and remedial training (RT)!!! Recently, I have promoted to the 'senior' phase for RT...From twice weekly to 3 times a week...Its kinda of sad, but I will persevere and continue to train hard for ippt. On a lighter note, I can use this time to improve my physical stamina and attributes. I failed Standing Broad Jump (SBJ) and chin-ups in the recent ippt. Since then, I have been training hard for chin-ups. However, for SBJ, I have little clue on how to get started. So, I am just doing some squats and tuck-jumps. To me, SBJ is a technique, it needs to be mastered, otherwise its kind of difficult. haha...I will definitely conquer this SBJ mountain of my life!!!

simple is bliss

Simple things in life may not appear glamourous, but very often we find joy and contentment in doing these simple things. Learning to appreciate the simple things in life and be contented. Simple as it may seems but it keeps a couple's marriage for 30 years and it motivates a stranger to be willing to take care of someone in need. Indeed, simple is bliss.
